Lisa Dodd was a three-time CIF-SDS Champion in softball, a three-time CIF Player of the Year, and a three-time Female Athlete of the Year in the San Diego Section. She pitched shutouts in all the softball Championships and hit a game winning home run in the last one which is pictured above. She won two CIF titles in soccer and was an ALL-CIF runner in cross country, qualifying to compete in the State Cross Country Championships in Fresno where she finished 17th. As a senior she was selected as the top softball player in the country by Gatorade when she was named the California State and National Gatorade softball Player of the Year. In 2003 she set the state mark for home runs in a season with 17, in addition to setting several local CIF Section pitching and hitting marks as well. At the same time in travel softball she pitched and hit the Orange County Batbusters to two consecutive ASA Class A 18U Gold National Championships, was named the National Tournament MVP, was named the Spy Softball Player of the year, and was selected to the USA Junior Women’s National Team. As a National Team member she traveled to Hermosillo, Mexico, qualified for the Junior Women’s World Championship in China, and won the Power Hitter Award while pitching and playing shortstop for team USA. In China, Lisa pitched a shutout against Australia in the semi-final game and batted 5th in the order for the United States, who earned the Silver medal. She earned a full athletic scholarship to UCLA in softball.
