Judgment of the strike zone in softball and baseball is an all important skill required for batters to consistently succeed at hitting. Most coaches preach to their players to let bad pitches go but seldom do coaches have a way to teach them how to do this. The HIP Stick and the HIP Stick v2 are training devices that coaches can use to help teach their batters how to judge the horizontal plane of the strike zone.
Locating the pitch correctly in softball and baseball is also an all important skill required for pitchers to consistently succeed at getting batters out so the HIP Stick also comes in a pitcher’s version. It is called the HIP Stick vP and is a training device that coaches can use to help teach their pitchers and catchers where the best horizontal plane pitch locations are and to improve the pitcher’s ability to throw to these locations by providing colored targets for these locations during workouts.
