Improve Your Pitch Selection Discipline with the HIP Stick

Used and ENDORSED by the UNLV REBELS softball team.  UNLV Logo

HIP Stick
Judgment of the strike zone in softball and baseball is an all important skill required for batters to consistently succeed at hitting. Most coaches preach to their players to let bad pitches go but seldom do coaches have a way to teach them how to do this. The HIP Stick and the HIP Stick v2 are training devices that coaches can use to help teach their batters how to judge the horizontal plane of the strike zone.

Locating the pitch correctly in softball and baseball is also an all important skill required for pitchers to consistently succeed at getting batters out so the HIP Stick also comes in a pitcher’s version.  It is called the HIP Stick vP and is a training device that coaches can use to help teach their pitchers and catchers where the best horizontal plane pitch locations are and to improve the pitcher’s ability to throw to these locations by providing colored targets for these locations during workouts. “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shoots in my career.  I’ve lost almost 300 games.  26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.  I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life.  And that is why I succeed.”
